Studio Stampers August Blog Hop

Welcome to My Paper Paradise!  Today I am joining my fellow Studio Stampers for our Augusr Blog Hop, you should have come here from Kathy Hatzke, if not why not go to Krystie Hersch, our wonderful leader and start from the beginning?

My card uses some of the wonderful new Christmas papers along with my favorite stamp from last season, I was so pleased to see him included in the 2011 catalogue - he's just so much fun to colour in with copics!  Assembly is easy - if you just take it nice and slow.

Stamps: Happy Christmas
Ink: Memento
Paper: Sugar, Cranberry, Fern, twas the night before Christmas, candy cane stripe
Copics: cadmium red, special black, skin white

First, stamp Santa onto a 2" circle of sugar card, colour with Copics and mount onto a 3" scalloped circle of Fern card

Next, cut your base card in cranberry (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") , then cut a triangle of candy cane (measuring 4 1/4" along the base and 3' high), making sure you get the correct alignment of the stripes.

Now cut a 1 1/4" strip of the wonderful new 'twas the night before Christmas cardstock - I cut a full 8 1/2" strip to allow room for trimming at an angle.

I then used the Fiskars crinkly edged scallop border punch to create the background for this strip - to make it easier to align, cut two thin strips rather than one wider one.  Again, make these longer than necessary - the excess will be trimmed in the final stage.

The last step is to assemble the card and then - very carefully - trim off the overhanging edges.

Thanks for visiting, please do come back soon.

All supplies can be purchased here
Next stop on the hop is  ===> Kari Bell.  If you get lost, here is the complete list
