Studio Stampers September Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to My Paper Paradise! It’s the Studio Stampers Blog Hop Day,  if you are joining us in the Hop, you should have come here from Kathy Hatzke, if not, why not start at the beginning at the Studio Stampers Blog and see what everyone else has done – I always get so much inspiration from these talented and creative ladies.

A month or so ago, I purchased some of Amuse Studio’s delicious shimmer couture card stock, it really is beautiful – every time I‘ve gone in my craft room I’ve admired it, but I can’t seem to get round to cutting into it.  I decided TODAY was going to be the day, I surfed the internet looking for inspiration, but inspiration came there none --- so I looked through my own inspiration box, some of my cards, but many, many cards from classes I’ve taken at The Paper Garden in Sacramento.  I took the colour scheme from one, the construction from another and stamps and paper from Amuse Studio – I think you’ll agree, it’s a perfect marriage!

And here's another view from the side

The card measures 5 1/2" x 4" when folded flat, so it fits in a standard sized envelope - although I suspect that USPS will still charge extra for a 'non-machinable' envelope!

The more observant amongst you will have noticed in the supply list that I used two different black inks in the making of this card, and some of you may be wondering why.  As its name suggests, the shimmer card has a  shimmery surface, memento or A|S pigment ink would just slip off the surface - usually onto your fingers and everything they come into contact with.  I can't tell you how many cards I have ruined in this way.  The Staz-On ink is designed for non porous surfaces, so problem solved.  However, when colouring with Copics the Staz-On will tend to bleed, and as Santa is stamped onto normal sugar card, memento is the ink to use here.

Did I mention that the sentiments from the Holiday Greetings inside and out are my absolute favourite?

That's all from me today.  Next stop on the hop is Kari Bell.  If you get lost, here is the complete list.

Wonderful card! I have a hard time cutting the shimmer couture cardstock too. It's so pretty that I don't want to use it.

Super cute! My shimmer couture is still carefully wrapped in plastic but you've inspired me to open it up and play with it.

So fun! Love the fun folds. Wouldn't it be fun to tuck a gift card or two into those little presents?
