Tweet-hearts

Well, all that time without a computer meant much less time hopping from blog to blog and much more time crafting myself.  In particular, I have been playing with different ways of folding cards - today's is a simple Easel Fold (you should see what I have for tomorrow's blog hop!)

and from the side

Do you see the flower?  Isn't it amazing how well it matches the red on the card?  Well I have to let you into a secret - it's one of Amuse Studio meadow flowers (buttercup), they come in white, but they have been designed so that you can colour them any colour you wish with Copic pens to get a perfect match for your project.  Mine have been languishing in the drawer since I received them in my starter kit, but now I see how wonderful they are, you can be sure you are going to see more of them from now on.

The card measures 4 1/4" square.  You will need two pieces of the background card (watermelon), one 4 1/4" square (this forms the background of the main image) and one 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4" (this forms the 'structure' of the card).  You want to fold the halfway fold the 'wrong' way ie coloured side in.  The other fold goes the other way

The stamping (see below for a great tip for stamping tiny images like the birds and heart) on the card is pretty self explanatory. When assembling the card note that the sentiment strip is mounted on puffy tape to allow the card to stand more easily.

Tomorrow is World Card Making Day and I will be joining around 15 of my friends from Amuse Studio for a celebratory blog hop, I would love it if you could pop back and see what these talented ladies have in store for you.  The posts go live at midnight Eastern time, so that will mean two posts for some of you today - I did say I'd been busy in the craft room!

All the supplies you need to make today's card can be found here

Stamps: tweetheart
Paper: sugar, slate, watermelon
Ink: cranberry, pebble, memento tuxedo black
misc: paper flower - buttercup, cherry stitched grosgrain ribbon, onyx pearl, copic - R29

* If you are stamping a thin sentiment or a tiny image like these birds using a cling or clear stamp, ink it up as usual then place a second, clean image from the same set beside it and then stamp.  The second image stabilises the block and no smushing - YAY!
