One Layer Wednesday

This week's One Layer Wednesday challenge has a new host, Heather Telford, and she has challenged us to make a mini masterpiece, no bigger than 2" x 2".  I immediately thought of a new technique (for me) that I've been meaning to try for some time.  Before I tell you about it, here's the card:

Now while I obviously need practice, I am quite pleased with the result and I will definitely be using it again.

I started by cutting a 2" x 2" mask using a nestability die, I then stamped part of the sunny side image through the hole in versamark and heat embossed in clear embossing powder.  I then put the mask back, stuck on a small post it circle for the sun and using amethyst and heather ink, sponged over the image. I then removed the mask and 'polished" the image a little to take the ink of the embossed parts.  A quick sentiment and really the whole thing was done in less than 5 minutes - that is if you don't count the two hours I spent thinking about it first!

All the supplies are from Amuse Studio and are available here

stamps: sunny side of life
paper: sugar
ink: amethyst, heather, versamark
misc: clear embossing powder, sponge daubers.
